The little girl dreams to be an astronaut when she grows up. She wants to start exploring the galaxy with a map in her hand. It is almost like a continued episode following the classic poetry for children, "Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are! Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky".

Lyrics in Bengali, jointly written by Manick and Shikha Sorcar and the song composed by Manick, it was a part of the attempt to attract their U.S. born young daughters Piya and Payal (then 8 and 5 yrs old) to the Indian culture and their native language. The success led to a series of other songs by the Sorcar sisters that remain popular even today. 'Astronaut' was sung by Payal, and is one of the several songs that were released in the mid eightees in the USA and India. A CD of the songs are available in the "Purchase Products" section in this website. They can also be heard on YouTube .

Manick Sorcar is creating a laser animation of the song "Astronaut", and is looking forward to sharing this with the world. The release date on YouTube will be announced soon.
